Hi, I’m Caroline! The face and heart behind Light of Juno.

I was born in France, but life and creativity carried me across the world until I found home here in beautiful Dunedin. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the handmade, the meaningful, and the deeply personal — from my days studying fine arts and graphic design, to running a hand-dyed yarn business and knitting tiny baby clothes by the fire.

But it was becoming a mother myself — giving birth to my daughter at home — that sparked something entirely new. I was transformed not only by the experience of birth, but by the raw, powerful beauty of womanhood, of motherhood, of becoming.

I even thought for a time about training as a midwife, but I realised what truly called to me was witnessing these moments and honouring them in another way: through photography.

My work is about more than taking photos — it’s about walking alongside mothers and families through their journey, from the tender blooming of pregnancy to the raw intensity of birth, the hazy wonder of newborn days, and the golden, chaotic beauty of growing families.

And just as every journey is unique, so is every session I offer. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter shoots or using the same backdrop for every family. I believe in creativity, collaboration, and crafting something that feels uniquely you. Maybe you’ll want to bathe with your newborn while I quietly capture those soft, skin-to-skin moments. Maybe you’ll want to dance under the laundry lines, run barefoot on a stormy beach, or laugh with your kids in the rain. Whatever it is, we’ll dream it up together — and I’ll be there to catch the magic as it unfolds.
